Overhauling the Our Culture and Inclusion, Diversity and Equity pages on the career site.

Project Summary
Updating the 'Our Culture' and 'Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity' pages on the career site were identified as a priority for Candidate Attraction. We aligned on content, designed, built, and launched the pages in 2023.

Problem
When the career site was launched in 2022, certain pages were not a top priority and therefore lacked meaningful and actionable information for page visitors.
Research
& Analysis
The previous designs had low visitors counts, low engagement, and very little time spent on the pages. It was not hard to see why. They did not provide candidates with any real useful information regarding the topics they were meant to provide information for. Without meaningful topics, or any way to see how that would relate to their potential future at Best Buy, it was likely causing frustration that the pages even existed.
We first brainstormed with product and partners the information that would be most impactful and meaningful to users coming to the site. We then discussed how we could best tie that information into other areas of the site, for a more fluid user experience.

Results &
Feedback
After launch, we saw an increase in unique visitors, engagement time, and page views for both of the pages. Over the first six months the impacts were obvious.
Our Culture:
-
160% increase in unique visitors
-
15,610 visitors compared to 1,329
Inclusion, Diversity & Equity:
-
Increased to 12,356 views from 1,689 views
-
Number of visitors increased to 15,158 from 861
Key Takeaways & Learnings
With the success and clear impact we saw from making important updates to these two pages, it made a great case for updating other pages throughout the career site. We went into further discussions and planning for strategically updating the rest of the pages that had been neglected and how we could create a better flow and experience for candidates coming to the site. This lead to:
-
An updated header navigation
-
Updated 'People of Best Buy' page
-
A hiring process FAQ page
